Hiprex is indicated for the prevention or suppression of bacteriuria associated with chronic or recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Suitable for: Adults and children 12 years and over

Pack size: 20 tablets

Active Ingredient

Each tablet contains:

  • Methenamine hippurate 1 g

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and over

  • Take 1 tablet twice daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

  • May be taken with or without food.

Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Warnings

Do not use if:

  • You are taking sulphonamides, acetazolamide or urinary alkalising agents.

  • You have gout, severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, or severe dehydration.

Before use, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

  • Are taking any other medicines.

  • Have any medical conditions.

  • Use a urinary catheter.

  • Consult your doctor if signs or symptoms of a urinary tract infection develop.

  • Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

  • Keep the bottle tightly closed.

  • Do not use if the seal is broken or after the expiry date.

Storage

  • Store below 30°C.

  • Keep the bottle tightly sealed.
