Description                                                                                                                              Betadine Anaesthetic Lozenges contain dichlorobenzyl alcohol, benzydamine hydrochloride and lidocaine (lignocaine) hydrochloride monohydrate. The formulation is used for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with sore throat. The active ingredients provide anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial actions.

These lozenges are iodine free, sugar free, lactose free and gluten free.

Ingredients

Active ingredients:

• Dichlorobenzyl alcohol

• Benzydamine hydrochloride

• Lidocaine (Lignocaine) hydrochloride monohydrate

Contains:

• Sucralose

• Isomalt

Directions

Adults and children over 6 years:

• Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours as required.

• Maximum 12 lozenges in 24 hours.

Warnings

Do not use:

• In children under 6 years of age.

• If the foil seal is broken.

• If you are allergic to benzydamine or other anti-inflammatory medicines.

If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

While using this product:

• Do not consume hot food or drinks immediately after use due to the anaesthetic effect.

• If symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• Keep out of reach of children.

This product contains 30.9g of isomalt per 12 lozenges (maximum recommended daily dose). Products containing isomalt may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.

The effectiveness of the antibacterial agent in reducing the severity or duration of a sore throat has not been clinically established.
