Difflam Plus Anaesthetic Sore Throat Lozenges contain anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ingredients for the temporary relief of sore throat symptoms.

The formulation is indicated for the temporary relief of:

• Sore throat

• Pharyngitis

• Tonsillitis

• Mouth ulcers

• Swelling, redness and inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat

• Pain following mouth or throat surgery

• Pain following dental procedures

Suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and over.

Active Ingredients

Each lozenge contains:

• Benzydamine hydrochloride 3 mg

• Lidocaine (Lignocaine) hydrochloride monohydrate 4 mg

• Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg

Directions

Adults and children aged 6 years and over:

• Slowly dissolve one lozenge in the mouth every 2–3 hours as required.

• Do not chew.

• Maximum of 12 lozenges in 24 hours.

Warnings

Do not use this medicine:

• If the blister seal is broken.

• If the expiry date has passed.

• If you are allergic to benzydamine or other anti-inflammatory medicines.

If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or may become pregnant.

While using this medicine:

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

• Avoid consuming hot food or drinks immediately after use due to the anaesthetic effect.

• The efficacy of the antibacterial ingredient in reducing the severity or duration of throat infections has not been clinically established.

• If symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• Do not use continuously for more than 7 days unless under medical supervision.

Contains sucralose and isomalt (31 g per 12 lozenges, the recommended maximum daily dose). Products containing isomalt may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.
