Product Information
LumaCina Sodium Chloride 0.9% Injection BP is a sterile, isotonic solution of sodium chloride in water for injections. Each 10 mL ampoule contains 90 mg of sodium chloride. There are 50 single-use ampoules in the box, and the solution contains no antimicrobial preservative.
Indications
The label states this product is for restoration of salt and water loss, or as a vehicle for administration of drugs. It is labelled for intravenous or intramuscular use.
Composition
- Sodium chloride 90 mg and water for injections to 10 mL
- 1.54 mmol of sodium ions and 1.54 mmol of chloride ions in each 10 mL
- Where needed, the pH is adjusted with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid
Directions for Use
Follow the directions printed on the side panels of the pack. Injections are given by, or under the supervision of, a healthcare professional.
Warnings
- Use in one patient on one occasion only and discard any unused solution.
- Do not use if particles can be seen in the solution.
- Contains no antimicrobial preservative.
Storage
Store below 25°C.
