Description

Maltofer Tablets, containing 100 mg elemental iron per tablet, are used for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency in adolescents and adults who cannot tolerate or use ferrous iron supplements. Clinically proven to correct iron deficiency, Maltofer is associated with fewer gastrointestinal side effects and less constipation compared to ferrous sulfate.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains 100 mg elemental iron as 370 mg iron polymaltose.

Directions

Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Treatment of iron deficiency (adults and adolescents 12+): Take 1–2 tablets daily (100–200 mg iron), preferably with food.

Prevention of iron deficiency (high-risk adults and adolescents 12+): Take 1 tablet daily (100 mg iron), preferably with food.

Higher doses should only be taken as directed by your healthcare professional.

Swallow tablets whole with water during or immediately after a meal.
