One thermometer that works two ways: touchless on the forehead, or in the ear. It switches between them automatically, going to ear mode when the magnetic probe cover comes off and back to touchless when it is replaced. Readings take about a second, which matters when you are checking a sleeping baby or a child who will not sit still. It also reads surface temperatures, so it can be used on a bottle, food or bath water.

Directions for Use
Select the mode that matches who you are measuring and where. For touchless forehead readings, hold the thermometer the distance stated in the manual from the centre of the forehead. Remove the magnetic probe cover to switch to ear mode. Keep the lens clean, as a smudged lens is the usual cause of an odd reading. For babies, Medescan suggests taking three readings and using the highest.
