Mepilex Border Flex Foam Dressing 7.5cm x 7.5cm 10 Pack

Mepilex Border Flex is a bordered foam dressing made by Mölnlycke Health Care. A soft silicone adhesive (Safetac technology) holds it to the skin, and a water-resistant backing film covers the pad. This box holds ten sterile dressings, each 7.5cm x 7.5cm overall.

Designed For

Wounds with moderate to high amounts of fluid, including pressure injuries, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds and surgical wounds. Mölnlycke also lists dry or necrotic wounds when the dressing is used together with a hydrating gel. It can be used at home under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

How to Use

• Clean the wound as your healthcare professional advises, then dry the skin around it.
• Pick a size that overlaps the dry skin around the wound by at least 1 to 2cm.
• Peel off the release film and place the dressing over the wound. Do not stretch it.
• Follow the instructions for use supplied in the pack for change frequency and removal.

Precautions

• Do not use on anyone with a known sensitivity to the dressing materials.
• Do not use with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
• See a healthcare professional if you notice signs of infection, such as fever or the wound or nearby skin becoming red, warm or swollen.
• Single use only. Do not use if the sterile pouch is damaged or already open, and do not re-sterilise.

Additional Information

The foam can turn slightly more yellow with exposure to light, air or heat. According to the manufacturer this has no effect on how the dressing works before its expiry date.
