Mepilex Foam Dressing 10cm x 10cm 5 Pack

Mepilex is a soft silicone foam dressing with no adhesive border. Its Safetac contact layer holds to the dry skin around a wound without sticking to the moist wound bed, which is designed to reduce pain and skin damage when the dressing is changed. The box contains five sterile 10cm x 10cm dressings.

Designed For

The management of wounds with low to moderate amounts of fluid. Mölnlycke states it can be used in clinical and home settings by lay people under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

How to Use

• Clean the wound as instructed and dry the surrounding skin.
• Cut the dressing to shape first if needed, then remove the release films.
• Apply the silicone side to the wound. Hold it in place with a bandage or other fixation where needed.
• Follow the instructions for use in the pack for change frequency.

Precautions

• Do not use on a patient with known hypersensitivity to the dressing or its materials.
• Do not use with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
• Seek advice from a healthcare professional if there are signs of clinical infection, such as fever or redness, warmth or swelling around the wound.
• Do not reuse. Do not use if the sterile barrier is damaged or opened, and do not re-sterilise.

Additional Information

The foam may become more yellow over time with exposure to light, air or heat. This does not change its performance before the expiry date.
