Description

Movicol contains macrogol 3350 with added electrolytes. Macrogol is a high molecular weight polyethylene glycol (PEG) that is not absorbed by the body. It works by drawing and retaining water in the bowel, which helps soften stools and increase stool volume. The included electrolytes assist in maintaining normal fluid and mineral balance during use.

Movicol acts by hydrating and softening stool, increasing bulk, supporting normal bowel movement, and reducing stool dryness. It is used for the relief of constipation, including long-term constipation, and for the management of medically diagnosed faecal impaction.

Directions for Use

Empty one sachet into a glass and add 125 mL of water. Stir until the powder is fully dissolved and the solution appears clear or slightly cloudy, then drink.
A flavouring such as orange cordial may be added if desired.

Warnings

Do not use Movicol Lemon-Lime if you have been diagnosed with:

Intestinal obstruction or bowel paralysis

A perforated bowel

Severe inflammatory bowel disease (including ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, or toxic megacolon)

Known allergy to macrogol or any of the listed ingredients

Movicol Lemon-Lime is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.
For children aged 2–11 years, use the Movicol Junior range.
