Description
Nicotinell Nicotine Lozenges are designed to support your quit-smoking journey by delivering controlled doses of nicotine. They can help you stop smoking over several months or gradually reduce your dependence on cigarettes over a longer period.
These lozenges work by replacing some of the nicotine you would normally get from smoking, helping manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms. This approach is known as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).
Each lozenge contains a nicotine resin that releases nicotine slowly as it dissolves, allowing it to be absorbed through the lining of the mouth. By supplying a portion of the nicotine your body is used to, the lozenges can help curb cravings and make it easier to resist cigarettes.
Common withdrawal symptoms when quitting may include irritability, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, restlessness, increased appetite or weight gain, trouble sleeping, and low mood. The nicotine delivered by Nicotinell Lozenges may help ease some of these effects.
Because they do not contain tar, carbon monoxide, or other harmful chemicals found in cigarette smoke, Nicotinell Lozenges do not carry the same health risks as tobacco.
For best results, they can be paired with a behavioural support program to assist with quitting.
Nicotinell 2 mg Regular Strength is recommended for smokers who have their first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking.
Nicotinell 4 mg Extra Strength is recommended for smokers who have their first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking.
