Description

Nicotinell® Patches provide a steady release of nicotine over 24 hours, helping to manage cravings throughout the day. Each transdermal patch is designed to deliver a consistent dose through the skin, offering discreet support while you work toward quitting smoking.

Includes 7 transdermal patches (1-week supply).

Directions

Remove the patch from the sachet and peel off the protective backing.

Apply to clean, dry, hair-free skin that has not been treated with lotions, sunscreen, or insect repellent. Suitable areas include the upper arm, chest, abdomen, or hip.

Press firmly with the palm of your hand for 10–20 seconds, then smooth along the edges to ensure proper adhesion.

Do not lift the patch to check if it is sticking, as this may loosen the seal.

Replace the patch every 24 hours and apply the next patch to a different skin site.

Do not reuse the same skin area for at least seven days.

Nicotinell Patches are used as part of a gradual step-down program. Start with Step 1 if you smoke 20 or more cigarettes daily, using the Quit Now or Pre-Quit program as outlined in the leaflet.

Pre-Quit Program

For smokers of 20 or more cigarettes a day who are not ready to quit immediately:

Apply one Nicotinell Step 1 Patch daily while still smoking.

After 2 weeks, stop smoking and transition to the Quit Now program.

Quit Now Program

Stop smoking and apply one patch each day:
Step 1

Smokers of 20+ cigarettes/day: Use for 3–4 weeks

Smokers of fewer than 20 cigarettes/day: Step 1 not required

Combination Therapy

If cravings persist or relapse has occurred with patches or gum alone, Nicotinell® Patch may be used together with Nicotinell® 2 mg Gum. Refer to the leaflet for full instructions.

Ingredients

Active ingredient per patch:

Nicotine 52.5 mg (delivering 21 mg over 24 hours)

Warnings

Do not use if:

You are under 12 years of age

You are a non-smoker or only smoke occasionally

You have a widespread skin condition (e.g. generalised psoriasis, chronic dermatitis)

You are allergic to nicotine or any ingredient in the patch

The sachet is damaged or unsealed

Seek medical advice before use if:

You have recently had a heart attack or stroke

You have angina that is worsening or not well controlled

You have severe arrhythmia

You have uncontrolled high blood pressure

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if:

You are under 18 years of age

You are pregnant or breastfeeding

You have heart or blood vessel disease

You have kidney or liver problems

You have diabetes

You have an overactive thyroid or adrenal gland tumour
