Vermox Choc Chew Tablets are indicated for the treatment of intestinal worm infections caused by threadworm, whipworm, roundworm and hookworm in adults and children aged 2 years and over.

The active ingredient, mebendazole, works by preventing susceptible worms from absorbing glucose, which they require for survival. For the treatment of threadworm, a single dose is recommended. No body weight calculations are required.

Before treating threadworm, evidence of infestation should be present. If one household member has threadworms, treatment of all household members should be considered.

Signs and symptoms of threadworm infestation may include:

• Small white thread-like worms around the anal area

• Itching around the anus or vagina

• Restless sleep, teeth grinding or irritability

Threadworm – Adults and children (2 years and over):

• Take 1 tablet as a single dose.

• Tablets may be taken with or without food.

• Tablets may be chewed or crushed.

• Crush tablets before giving them to young children.

• Vermox Suspension is available for younger children if required.

• Store below 30°C.

• Do not use in children under 2 years of age unless advised by a doctor.
